Budget Weddings - Design a Fantastic Wedding on a Tight Budget

by Coreen Christobel

Maybe you want a fairy tale wedding, but you don't necessarily want to sacrifice all the college money for your future kids. Although that's what most of us want, it's hard to keep a 'budget wedding' within budget. There are many ways that you can keep from forking out money that wasn't planned in your budget. Here are a few of them.

Don't Hire Unnecessary People:

You don't need to fork over tons of cash just for a performer or a band if you want music at your wedding. What you do is you make one of your friends or family members a disk jockey, and give them a compilation of your favorite music on CDs. This works well with a large disk changer CD player. With little things like this here and there, you can easily pull off budget weddings. You'll easily save $1000 if not more.

Keep it Smaller:

No matter how tempting it is to invite everyone you ever knew, as well as all their friends and family, STOP! Only select your family as well as your very best and closest friends. Don't add to the list by including anyone else. Ask your friends and family not to bring guests, and stick to the invited people only. This saves you from the worry and expense of having to bring in enough food to feed everyone.

Think About Food:

One of the most major expenses for weddings is the food and catering. Don't choose some fancy food that half of your guests can't pronounce anyway. What you should consider instead is a potluck wedding. Or, you can simply enlist some friends to help you serve finger foods and hors d'oeuvres. You can keep yourself from drowning in debt with budget weddings, and they'll still be beautiful. Nobody wants to start off marriage in debt.
