A group of people wanted to find some gift ideas for a friend's birthday. One person said in an extremely heavy Southern drawl that the friend likes to collect Coke Cola items. In fact, the friend's sister was just as avid a collector of Pepsi Cola items, so buying gifts for them was as easy as finding either Coke or Pepsi collectibles.

Many others agreed due to the fact carbonated beverage collectibles are well liked and can be found for virtually any size wallet. At the low end, even bottle caps or recent commemorative containers can be found for less than a dollar. For those with money to spend on collectibles, one of a kind objects such as the first soda vending machines easily run into five figures.

Any old signs in excellent condition, especially wooden ones were usually worn out due to outdoor usage, can make collectors happy. Some people may store these pristine signs in a barn or their attic, so modern collectors have a real treasure they can value.

Many collectibles from soft drinks aren't very old at all. In a short period of time, a limited edition mug or teddy bear and jump in price and rarity. There are those collectible items that could be fakes, so caution is advised when purchasing or searching for these.

A replica may not be a bad deal. Many copies are authorized by companies and offered for sale on their own websites, allowing consumers to buy old and cherished designs at a more affordable price than the original item. At the same time, buyers should be aware that they are purchasing a copy and make sure that it is not a wrongfully represented as an original.

Many soft drink collectibles can be purchased for under $20 and are a perfect way to start collecting. When you are more comfortable and understand the collectibles market you can move into more expensive and rarer objects although some people may prefer to stay with lower priced collectibles. Assembling a complete set of commemorative cans might be a goal for a collector. What matters most is to collect things that you like and value personally.

When selecting a soft drink collectible as a gift, try to find out what is on their personal wish list, enlisting a relative or close friend who knows their collection. Make certain you know whether you are buying an original or replica and pay appropriately, and for gifts try to find a vendor with a good return or exchange policy as well.
